At Foundation Church, we are an elder-led church, where some of our elders are vocational pastoral staff, some are lay elders who also help lead and oversee the church.
OUR LEAD ELDER/PASTOR: Roy Phillips
OUR LEAD ELDER/PASTOR: Roy Phillips

Roy and his wife Amy and their children moved to Alaska in 2019 as they answered God's call to plant a church in Alaska. Having served in various roles in multiple churches, church planting was at the heart of their call to move from Texas to Alaska. Roy is an Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran, having served in the US Army. He also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies, and is working to complete his Masters in Theological Studies.
ELDER/PASTOR: Daniel Mahr

Daniel and Kayla moved to Alaska in 2012 to pursue missionary aviation. For the next 3 years they served full-time with a missionary flying organization where Daniel flew pastors, missionaries, and supplies all over bush Alaska. Following that ministry, the Mahr’s served through their local church of 10 years where they worked in children’s ministry, praise team, men’s and women’s ministry, college ministry, and Daniel served as an Elder as well. The Mahr’s continue to minister bi-vocationally with Daniel serving Foundation Church as a pastor while still maintaining his career as a pilot.
